A couple weeks back, I was lucky enough to partake in some indoor kart racing during a company Christmas party. Kart 2 Kart, found in Sterling Heights, MI, provides a 1/5 mile track with six challenging turns that gave our entire staff one of the more exciting times in recent memory.

It was fascinating to see some of my closest co-workers exhibiting a wide array of racing personalities that you can view below. Everything from…

the ultra serious…

to the utterly jubilant…

to those expressing their undying quest for peace…

and even those who demonstrated unrestrained levels of hysteria…

According to the Kart 2 Kart’s website (www.kart2kart.com), “The pro karts are JB Indoor Racing Karts based off a racing design chassis, equipped with 5.5 HP Engines, slick racing tires, and hydraulic brakes. These aren’t your average putt-putt karts, they are designed and geared for speeds up to 35mph.” And take it from me, folks, it was an absolute blast! Everyone should check this place out.

But let’s say the 5.5 horsepower karts just won’t quite satisfy your need for speed. Then perhaps 470 horsepower will do the trick.

In support of the Animal Aid Foundation, Aaron Bambach (owner of Kart 2 Kart), has organized a charity raffle to raise money for animals in need. The prize, of course, is a 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT8 392. And, technically speaking, you could win it for as little as $30. Click on the flyer photo below to find out more details on the contest…

The lucky winner will get to choose from dealer stock at Bob Brent’s Orchard Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge in Washington Township, MI (www.orchardchryslerdodgejeep.com). If someone wins from out of town, they will be flown in to receive their SRT8.

Sure, all of us in the Mopar community would love to have a shiny new 392 in our driveway, but it’s the charitable cause that is the real story here. 100% of the donations gathered to win the car “go directly towards the animals,” according to Bambach. The Animal Aid Foundation is also a 100% volunteer-run organization.

“2011 was our best year to date,” Bambach stated. “The AAF placed nearly 400 animals into forever-homes for a second chance at life. Many of these animals were pulled from high-kill shelters, found on the streets, surrendered by their owners, or were simply left behind where families ‘moved out’ and left them.

“All of these animals come into our volunteer foster network of about 75-85 homes, are evaluated, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and posted online at www.pfl.petfinder.org. While the animals are in foster care, AAF takes care of the food, medical requirements, and transportation needs while adoption applications are taken and evaluated. If the potential adopters are approved, the animals then start a two week trial period of adjustment and, if successful, begin life with their new families.”

Bambach continued, “Rescue is our main focus. But we also try to perform spay/neuter programs in order to control the overpopulation of our companion animals. Additionally, we facilitate educational programs at high schools throughout the midwest, presenting humane education curriculum and encouraging kids to get involved with an organization to make a difference, even if it’s not animal related.”

So, not only will you have the chance to win one of the most coveted Mopar products of all time, but you’ll surely be contributing to a wonderful cause. How can you go wrong?

Again, get over to the AAF website (http://animalaidfoundation-mi.org/our_mission.php) and enter to win the Challenger. The winner will be announced on June 15, 2012 at 8:00pm. Best of luck and many thanks to those who enter.

  1. I bought 4 tickets online! Easy as could be. Make sure you hit “Events” with your donation to get into the raffle.

Thanks MMM for showcasing this great event. Homeless animals and non-profits need all the help they can get.
