Patryk Skarzynski, who hails from Chicago, is now part of Viper history after being named the winner of the SRT® Viper Color Contest for the submission Competition Blue. That hue will now be part of the 2014 SRT Viper vehicle lineup. Along with having his name forever linked to the Viper, Skarzynski also receives a trip for two to the 2014 Rolex 24 at Daytona®, the season-opening event for the new TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, and a mini speedform of the Competition Blue SRT Viper.
The other finalists in the voting were: Michael Pshenishny, Albany, New York, for his submission Overtaking Blue and Norbert Samuel, Anaheim, California, who entered the name Viral Blue. Both Pshenishny and Samuel receive a mini speedform of the Competition Blue SRT Viper.
“The team was thrilled with the overwhelming response and enthusiasm we received from the SRT fans and owners,” said Mark Trostle, Head of SRT, Mopar® and Motorsports Design. “It was very difficult to narrow it down from over 11,000 submissions. I think we had three great choices that the fans voted on.”
Entries poured in from across the United States. The team at SRT diligently sorted through all of the potential names to determine the final three, which were then voted for online between November 4–11.
“Color names are very important for any vehicle as they help convey the emotion of the color, in particular with the Viper, as it’s such an emotional piece,” said Trostle. “Owners take great pride in the color name of their Viper. It’s part of the bragging rights of owning a Viper or an SRT vehicle.”
