Which really, i mean, what from the 1970 s DIDN’T have rust problems? I’d say a 128 or a 124 Spider wasn’t any more of a rust monster than the Porsche 911 or BMW 2002/320i of the time, both of which are total rust heaps. Galvanized steel started becoming standard in the industry later.The cars themselves were fairly reliable and easy to work on, although the Fiat twin-cam got a reputation for unreliability because it was worked on past warranty by domestic independent mechanics who didn’t know what they were doing. That’s just my $0.02.
